Tallest 3 buildings
Burj Dubai is a majestic skyscraper. At almost 2700ft, it is the tallest man made structure ever. This massive project with a total budget of about US$ 4.1 billion is in the process of construction in Dubai, UAE, and the handovers are expected by the last quarter of 2009.
A Chicago based architect, Adrian Smith, is the man behind the phenomenon. SOM, a Chicago-based architecture and engineering firm was the official in-charge of Burj Dubai.
Hailed as one of the Seven New Wonders of the World and Seven Wonders of Engineering, Taipei 101 is the tallest completed building in the world. It is 101 floors above ground and 5 floors below the ground. It is a building for commercial use, used for communication, conference, library, observation, office, restaurant, retail, fitness center. It was launched amidst fireworks and gala celebrations on New year’s eve in 2004.
The Shanghai World Financial Center is in Shanghai, China. It consists of offices, hotels, conference rooms, observation decks, and shopping malls. The skyscraper stands tall at 1,614.2 ft and became the second tallest building in the world. Kohn Pedersen Fox is the architect. It is officially open for business.
